Greetings!

Thank you for stopping by the Persian Gulf. The purpose of this site is to promote the correct usage of the Persian Gulf name and to preserve its Persian identity. Please share the link with others so that together we can help spread the correct name of the Persian Gulf around the world.

Core Principles

While promoting the Persian Gulf name, we adhere to a number of principles that are described by the following statements.

  • We will be nonpartisan and maintain a long-term, and independent perspective.
  • All people have inherent value and deserve to be treated with respect.
  • We want to live in a world at peace where conflicts are resolved without recourse to violence.

This site was built in memory of GH. Khakbaz, who was a great admirer of the Persian culture. The design carries quiet echoes of that heritage: the girih rosette that recurs in the page background, the list markers, and the dividers is drawn from the interlocking geometry of Persian girih tilework, an ornamental tradition whose roots reach back to the carved rosettes of Takht-e Jamshid (Persepolis) near Shiraz, and the teal used throughout the site is derived from Persian blue, the colour of Persian tilework and pottery.
